NEET 2024 Tie-Breaking Policy 

The NTA uses a certain tie-breaking policy to choose one candidate among two equal-marked candidates. The criteria used for the same is as follows:

  • On the NEET merit list, those with higher biology (botany and zoology) scores/percentiles will be given preference.
  • After examining the candidate’s grades in Biology, if the tie still exists, their performance in Chemistry is assessed. The applicant who scores greater on Chemistry will be placed higher.
  • The applicant with the better Physics score will be given priority if there is still a tie.
  • Students who have fewer wrong answers overall will receive a higher ranking if there continues to be a tie.
  • Age seniority is given preference when the tie is unbreakable through the above-mentioned points.
