IIT Roorkee, the organizing institute of one of the most prestigious entrance examinations in India— the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) has announced the official registration and application dates. Earlier the registrations were scheduled to begin on the 24th of August 2024 but due to some unavoidable circumstances, it got delayed. 

As per the recent updates and notifications, the GATE 2025 Registration has been started from the 28th of August 2024. This means aspiring students can register themselves for GATE till the 26th of September 2024. The examinations are scheduled to be held in the initial weeks of February 2025.

Know About The GATE Examination 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, together with seven other Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) located in Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee, jointly administer the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), a nationwide examination. Documents Required For Registration 

You must have the following documents to successfully register and apply for the GATE 2025:

How To Register and Apply For GATE 2025?

Let’s learn the steps for the registration and application process for the upcoming examination. The following are the straightforward steps:

  • Foremost, you need to visit the official website at www.iitr.ac.in. Here you’ve to access the link stating GATE 2025 Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).
  • Search for the buttons saying “Login” followed by “Register”. Now, you have to enter the details like name, mobile number, valid email address, and password. 
  • Simply click on the “Submit” option which will subsequently generate an OTP. As soon as you enter the OTP, you’ll get the option to generate credentials for GATE Login 2025.
  • Once registered, you’ll get a unique ID and you have to remember its password for the further application process. 
  • Fill out all the required details including personal and academic information. You also need to choose the paper for which you’ll be appearing.
  • Lastly, you have to choose two exam centers from the same zone and one from any regional zone followed by uploading the required documents and fee payment. 
  • After this, you’ll get the option for acceptance and form declaration. Once you confirm that, your application will be submitted. 

What Application Fees Would Be Paid?

The application fee needs to be paid along with the submission of the application form before the deadline. In case, you fail to submit the form before the deadline, you can submit the same with Rs. 500 additional fee. The application fee structure is as follows:
