The detailed exam pattern and RRB NTPC syllabus is as mentioned below:
1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT)
RRB NTPC stage-1 Examination duration, question marking and number of questions for 1sd stage CBT are indicated below:
Examination duration for eligible PwBD candidates= 120 Minutes
- There will be Negative Marking and 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer.

2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT):
Candidates who passed 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) will go to the 2nd Stage CBT or each of the 7th CPC Level i.e. Level 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 with graded difficulty level.

3. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Note: Only for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master
To Pass all Candidates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/Ex SM) must secure a minimum T-Score of 42
marks.
4. Typing Skill Test (TST):
For the posts “Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper, Typing Skill Test (TST)” obtained in typing skill test shall not be added for making merit list.
- Typing Skill Test (TST): Required for multiple positions.
- Qualifying Nature: Marks from TST won’t be counted towards merit.
- Number of Candidates Called: 8 times the number of vacancies for each community.
- Typing Speed: 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on PC.
- No Editing Tools or Spell Check: Typing must be done without these features.
- Fonts for Hindi Typing: Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be available.
